FAQ's

Skincare can be complicated enough. Here are the answers to the questions we get asked most.

About the Routine

What is the About You Beauty routine?

Four products, four simple steps: cleanse, treat, repair and moisturise.
Morning: Morning Rain → Daylight Drops → Everything I Wanted → SPF
Night: Morning Rain → Midnight Rain → Everything I Wanted
The routine is designed to keep skincare simple while giving your skin hydration, treatment, barrier support and consistency.

Not necessarily. You can build your routine around what your skin needs. But the four products are designed to complement one another, so using them together gives you the complete About You Beauty routine.
Yes. The routine is designed for everyday use. Start consistently and give your skin time to adjust.
Skincare is a consistency game, not an overnight transformation. Most users may begin noticing visible improvements within 4–6 weeks of regular use, although results can vary depending on your skin and how consistently you use the products.
Absolutely. Especially when using an active morning routine, sunscreen should be the final step of your morning skincare routine.

Product Questions

What is Morning Rain?
Morning Rain is a gentle daily cleanser designed to remove dirt, oil and impurities without leaving your skin feeling stripped. It contains Gluconolactone, Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid, along with gentle cleansing agents and hydrating ingredients.
Daylight Drops is your morning treatment serum. It combines 6% 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, 5% Azelaic Acid, 1% Sodium Hyaluronate, 1% Centella Asiatica Extract and Centella Asiatica Leaf Vesicles, alongside peptides and panthenol. It is designed to hydrate, brighten and support healthier-looking skin.
Midnight Rain is the night treatment in the routine. Its formula includes Ceramide NP, Copper Tripeptide-1, Centella Asiatica Leaf Vesicles, EGF-related peptides and rice-derived proteins to support hydration, recovery and skin barrier care.
Everything I Wanted is the moisturising step of the routine. It combines 2% Alpha Arbutin, 1% Sodium Hyaluronate and Ceramide NP with emollients and barrier-supportive ingredients to hydrate and soften the skin.

Skin Type Questions

Is About You Beauty suitable for sensitive skin?
The formulas are designed with a focus on hydration and skin barrier support, and the routine is intended for different skin types. However, everyone’s skin is different. If you have particularly reactive or sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test before introducing a new product.
Yes. Oily skin still needs hydration. The routine is designed to cleanse, hydrate and treat without requiring a complicated collection of products. If your skin is very oily or acne-prone, introduce active products gradually and pay attention to how your skin responds.
Yes. Hydration and barrier support are central to the routine. Morning Rain cleanses, the serums treat and hydrate, and Everything I Wanted helps lock in moisture.
A simple routine is usually the best place to start. For younger skin, we recommend keeping things simple with cleanser, moisturiser and SPF. If you’re considering active serums for specific skin concerns, speak with a parent/guardian and, where appropriate, a dermatologist.
No. Skin doesn’t have a gender. The routine is designed for anyone who wants simple, thoughtful skincare.

Ingredient Questions

Why does About You Beauty use active ingredients?
Because every ingredient should have a reason to be there. The formulas focus on purposeful ingredients such as Vitamin C, Azelaic Acid, Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, peptides and Centella Asiatica rather than adding ingredients simply because they are trending.
Daylight Drops uses 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a stable derivative of Vitamin C, at 6%.
Daylight Drops contains 5% Azelaic Acid.

Yes. Midnight Rain contains Copper Tripeptide-1.

Using the Products

How much serum should I use?
Start with 2–3 drops on clean, dry skin and gently massage until absorbed. Follow with moisturiser. Daylight Drops should be followed by sunscreen during the day.
Apply a small amount to damp skin and massage gently in circular motions. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Yes. The product directions recommend using it in both your morning and evening routine.
Yes. We recommend patch testing any new skincare product before introducing it fully into your routine. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
You can, but you don’t need a complicated routine. About You Beauty is designed around a simple four-product system. If you’re adding additional active treatments, introduce them thoughtfully rather than layering multiple strong actives at once.
The routine contains ingredients commonly used in routines focused on hydration, brightening and overall skin health, including Azelaic Acid, Vitamin C and Alpha Arbutin. However, skincare is not a substitute for medical treatment. If you have persistent, severe or inflammatory acne or pigmentation, speak with a dermatologist.

Safety

Can I use About You Beauty during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Because pregnancy and breastfeeding can require individual ingredient considerations, we recommend checking with your doctor or dermatologist before introducing any new active skincare products.
Stop using the product if irritation occurs. For external use only. Avoid direct contact with the eyes and keep products out of reach of children.
Morning Rain lists Fragrance in its ingredient list. If you have a known fragrance sensitivity, we recommend reviewing the full ingredient list and patch testing before use.
